LF97 | Future of Longevity, 101 on generative AI, UK's fairness challenge and Everlab investment memo
Welcome to a Looking Forward’s Four For Friday. Four things that have piqued my interest this week. Enjoy!
Future of Longevity thought piece
A broad-ranging article of the emerging business of longevity, some of the driving trends and some of the players of note in the space. I was quoted sharing my thoughts on the importance of mission-driven thinking as a way to drive systems change, and the fact that population health should be seen as a new strategic asset.
101 on Generative AI by Deutsche Bank
Overiview of generative AI that will be useful for enterprises looking to get their hands around generative AI, how it’s different and how to think about the risks and opportunities. Here’s how it frames the risks of using generative AI in the workplace:
Responsible AI - the Fairness Challenge
A new competition from the UK offering up to £400k for innovations that can ‘address bias and discrimination in AI systems. The objectives are to encourage the development of “socio-technical approaches” to fairness, test strategies in light of recent regulations and provide clarity about practical applications.
Everlab - new longevity clinic raises $3m
Another AfterWork Ventures contribution - their investment thesis for why they’re an investor in Everlab. The Australian-based company is moving out of stealth and signing up new customers for its personalized concierge model. I’m a client and have been impressed with the process and personalized guidance. The funding will help them build up a scalable digital model.
That’s all for this week. As always, feedback welcome. Feel free to share insights or links of interest.
