LF67 | Leapfrogging, AI early cancer diagnostic tool, a sleep toolkit & HRV hacks
Welcome to a Looking Forward’s Four For Friday. Four things that have piqued my interest this week. Enjoy!
AI leapfrogging
An intriguing hypothesis that suggests AI could have a game-changing impact on certain laggard industries, in a similar way to the impact that mobile had on developing countries. This ‘leapfrogging’ will see those industries that haven’t already digitised reap outsize gains.
AI predicts pancreatic cancer
A Harvard AI tool can apparently spot pancreatic cancer - one of the most deadly and hard to spot - up to three years earlier than current protocols. The AI algorithm was trained on 9 million patient records from Denmark and the US and was able to determine tell-tale signs in patient records.
Huberman’s sleep toolkit
The benefits of good sleep are increasingly widely recognized and rockstar Stanford professor Andrew Huberman has put out a toolkit with a succinct set of actionable recommendations for good sleep, including: managing light exposure, regular timing, meditation, supplements and more.
14 hacks for improving heart rate variability
Heart rate variability (HRV) is a powerful metric for health and longevity and can be a good indicator about mental and physical stress. It’s now widely available on our personal health trackers. Here are 14 real-world hacks that have proven effective in improving your score.
That’s all for this week. As always, feedback welcome. Feel free to share insights or links of interest.
